In the midst of all the negative in the news, Abby will be bringing you some “Happy Headlines”, each weekday morning at 6:45 and 7:45am! Listen to hear some HAPPY news for a change!

It’s a morning show feature here on Mix 96.9…because I feel like we could all use a little more good news in our lives…all bad news has been CANCELLED – at least for the moment.

Presented by Cullman Regional Medical Center! Helping you get better by being better every day!

Today, we’re featuring area Halloween events on today’s Happy Headlines!

  • A Virginia Man paid for 40 pet adoptions at the Richmond Animal League to celebrate his wife turning 40…. In honor of his wife’s love for animals. Andrew hopes his act of kindness will inspire others to consider adoption.
  • Sophia Park just became the youngest person to pass the state’s bar exam.  Sophia is just 17 years old …..and just got her law degree this year after enrolling in law school at age 13.
  • Sandy Flash just had an emotional meeting with the little boy she saved by donating part of her liver.  You see…her husband got a new liver in 2022, and it inspired her to donate part of her own as a way of giving back.  Sonny is just one year old and is doing great.
  • The Bob Jones High School Band is headed to Indianapolis to compete in the Bands of America Grand National Championships There will be 113 bands from 20 different states competing. Bob Jones is the only band from Alabama in the competition. Join us in wishing them good luck!

November 18 – 22

Skating in the Park opens November 27, and we’ve got passes for you on It’s Not Rocket Science Trivia all week!

It’s those news stories that are true, but on the “crazy” side, bringing sometime laughter, and other times leaving listeners scratching their heads! Crazy But True can be heard at 6:15 and 8:20 each weekday morning!

A turkey cooking hack…that I bet you’ve never heard of…and it’s Crazy But True…

I’m sure you’ve heard of all sorts of marinades for your turkey. There’s the Zataran’s injectible….or even the mountain dew brine. But the latest trend, introduced by Chef Elizabeth Hieskell, involves slathering your turkey in butter, wrapping it in bacon…and then putting your bird in….. a pillowcase. The chef stresses using a clean pillowcase…..soak the pillowcase in butter, wine and chicken broth before inserting the turkey. They say…once the turkey is fully marinated, it is placed in an oven and baked to perfection. I would highly recommend not putting said pillowcase back on your bed. A pillowcase marinated
Thanksgiving Turkey….it’s…

Crazy But True!

Abby’s Facebook

Originally from Rock Falls, Illinois, Abby has been in radio for almost 30 years, and in the Huntsville market her entire career, with the last 16 at Mix 96.9. She started out as the midday host for the first 9 years, and has since transitioned into host of the morning show.

Abby loves spending time with her husband and 2 kids, and her beautiful granddaughter – eating at her favorite Mexican restaurant and most of all shopping for shoes! Her favorite vacation destination is the beach! One thing she couldn’t live without…a good cup of coffee anytime of the day!

Being from Connecticut, Bill is a huge New England Patriot fan! His career in radio began there and has taken him through Massachusetts, Central Pennsylvania…and along the journey, he’s met some pretty cool people – Sting, Van Halen, Aerosmith, TobyMac, Lauren Daigle and more!

Bill and his wife have three kids, two of which attend the University of Alabama Huntsville, and they all definitely take advantage of the fact that his ears “are shot”!

As the Mix 96.9 Morning Show Co-Host and “Traffic Guy”, Bill adds his quick wit and humor to the morning show along with making sure you know everything you need to know in order to get to and from work safely Monday through Friday morning and afternoon.

When not hanging out in the Mix 96.9 studio, he and his wife take advantage of all the great sights and sounds, and, of course, the local food scene in and around the Huntsville area!
